During our Spring semester of Good News Club at Good Elementary, a little girl named Charlotte joined our club and she loved it! She was so excited about it, she went home and told her mom. After weeks of hearing about Good News Club, her mom got in touch with me to find out more about it. Fortunately for us, Charlotte’s mom is the PTA President of Good Elementary.

After four long years of building relationships with the families at Good Elementary, God parted the waters and made a way for us to reach these children for Jesus Christ. As a result of our Good News Clubs and Monthly Food Drive, Northside Baptist Church’s Hispanic ministry gained three families to their membership. One family visited our church services, and several inquired about our church. Good News Clubs are truly doing the work of teaching kids about Jesus and connecting them to a local church!

When Charlotte’s mom reached out, she told me she was SOLD on Good News Club and wanted to help us integrate into the Good Elementary family. She opened the door for any of our church members to be a part of the PTA committee where we would have influence in upcoming Good Elementary events.

She also spoke with the administration at Good Elementary and they invited us to set up a Good News Club table during their parent/teacher meet and greet. The PTA is hosting a Back to School Bash at Thomas park and Northside Baptist Church is a co-sponsor. They have given us the opportunity to set up a Good News Club tent there and introduce our clubs to the entire community!

Charlotte’s mom is also a teacher at Central Elementary and has an inside track to the administration there. She asked if we would be willing to support efforts for that school as well. The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.

By the grace of God, we are going to win this generation for Jesus Christ. We are going to show a generation who has never heard the name of Jesus except in expletives just who Jesus really is. We are going to keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking, and we can’t wait to see what God is going to do.

The work Beth and her team are doing is more important than ever before — and there is much more to be done. Will you join Beth and CEF Dallas in bringing the Good News of Jesus to children throughout the Dallas area? We welcome you as a partner in volunteering and in giving financially. How will you participate?

This month presents a unique opportunity to partner with CEF Dallas through North Texas Giving Day — you can give online through the North Texas Giving Day page anytime through September 22 and your impact will be increased by the matching funds available for this event!
