CHRISTIAN YOUTH IN ACTION
CYIA trains and spiritually develops committed Christian teens to evangelize and disciple children ages 5-11 in both summer and year-round evangelistic programs
Who Can Be Involved?
Christians, ages 13 and up (12 year olds will be considered case-by-case) who desire to grow their relationship with the Lord. Teens must complete an application and meet the training requirements. (Scroll to the bottom of the page to apply.)
What Are The Benefits of Participating in CYIA Training?
- Teens are trained to reach children with the Gospel.
- Teens begin to change as they participate in God’s work.
- Teens become exposed to missions, perhaps for the first time, and develop a greater burden for the lost.
- Teens develop skills in the areas of leadership, communication, teamwork, self-confidence, and responsibility.
- Teens are better equipped to serve in their local churches, schools, and vocations.
- By applying their faith in sharing the Gospel, teens can become stronger in their faith and more open to sharing the Gospel as adults.
What Is The Cost?
We’re still looking at the 2026 budget, but hope to be able to offer a discounted rate, similar to our 2025 pricing. If we’re able to do that, it will be because of generous support and underwriting by our donors. Registration is required to ensure students receive all course materials, meals, and supplies for the weeks of CYIA training and 5 Day Clubs.
Putting the Training into Action!
CYIA training will prepare teens to present the Gospel clearly on a child’s level, guide a child in understanding how to receive Christ as Savior, know how to present an effective Bible lesson, teach children to memorize Bible verses and songs, and lead games. Teens are taught how to manage evangelistic and discipleship programs such as 5-Day Clubs and Good News Parties and how to work within a team environment.
CYIA graduates will be scheduled to teach 5-Day Clubs immediately after CYIA training. Five Day Clubs are held for 1 to 1.5 hours for up to five consecutive days. Clubs include Bible lessons, Bible verse memorization, games, songs, and a missionary story. CYIA grads can also teach at seasonal Good News Parties that can be scheduled throughout the year. Parties can be hosted wherever children are located: daycares, parks, community centers, churches, apartment complexes, etc.!
CYIA 2026 Training Dates: June 1-5 at Northside Baptist Church
Details are still being ironed out, but we do have a date and location for one session of Summer 2026 CYIA! Stay tuned for more information!
CYIA graduates will also be expected to teach at 5 Day Clubs for the two weeks following CYIA.
