What a summer we are having at CEF Dallas with our Ice Cream Party Clubs! We have traveled to daycares and Boys and Girls clubs in Grand Prairie, Allen, Plano, Dallas, Carrollton, Garland, Richardson, Mesquite, Frisco, and Coppell! At each location staff and volunteers shared the Gospel with the Wordless Book and told the Ice Cream MESSage – the story of Diego, a young man who takes a stand for what is right in God’s eyes even when his friends choose to do wrong! Children learned John 3:16, sang songs, played games, and enjoyed ice cream with toppings matching the colors of the Wordless Book!
We had 75 children at the Grand Prairie Boys and Girls club and it was exciting! Five children made decisions to trust in Christ that day! We were also blessed to return to the Union Gospel Mission Center of Hope in Dallas and minister to eleven precious children at the women’s shelter.
Many children have been reached including one young man, age 7, who came back for counseling at a daycare in Allen. He wanted to know who made God. I was able to show him in the scriptures that God is eternal, the Creator, and He has always been and always will be. He had learned of Jesus at age 5 when visiting his grandmother and saw a picture of Jesus “on two sticks ”– the cross! After hearing from God’s Word about what Christ accomplished on that cross, he said he knew he sinned every day and prayed to believe! We gave him a Bible of his own and prayed for the salvation of his family and that he will be able to go to church to learn more of his Savior.
